Aliff Syukri Says 'Badang' Is Better Than 'Black Panther' In His Response To Critics

Local entrepreneur Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman was upset that his acting in the movie 'Badang' was heavily criticised recently

Aliff is one of the lead actors in the latest local superhero film, 'Badang', in which he portrays the folk hero as a yellowish-green clad superhero in the movie.
    • In two separate videos that were shared on his Instagram account, Aliff asked his 2.4 million followers what he had done wrong since he has been bombarded with hurtful criticisms and insults.

"It hurts listening to all these ridicules hurled at me. I wake up in the morning and I don't feel at peace. As soon as I wake up, I feel hurt. What did I do wrong?" he said in one of the videos.

He also urged the public to give him a chance as he made his acting debut in the movie

    • Aliff said that 'Badang', which was released in cinemas last Thursday, is the "best film and artwork" and is capable of "beating" all other films such as Marvel's 'Black Panther'.

    • "You haven't even seen my film but you are already bashing it.

"If you were in my position, how would you feel? My patience has its limits, don't go overboard," added the 31-year-old, who is known to be a cosmetics millionaire and founder of D'Herbs Healthy Sdn Bhd (D'Herbs).

He went on to express his hopes that people would be more appreciative of his talent

    • "It's tiring acting all day and night, but what I get in return are just insults, not praises.

"Appreciate my talent. Think of how you would you feel if you are in my place, don't just simply bash," said Aliff, who is also a singer.

Aliff's comments come as social media has been abuzz with reviews from netizens who watched the film recently

      • The movie gained negative reception among local audience as many people who have watched the film gave poor ratings on social media.

      • One particular Facebook user named Zhafran Tan gave the movie an overall rating of 0.5/10, citing several reasons including bad acting and scripting for the low rating. The post has gained more than 4,300 shares since it was posted yesterday, 19 February.

Responding to comments that claim that 'Badang' is a low-quality movie, director Datuk Profesor Dr A Razak Mohaideen told Harian Metro that moviegoers should try viewing the movie from a child's perspective since it is a movie targeted at kids.
